Processing Emotions (Because Shoving Them Down Never Works)

If you’ve ever said:

  • “I don’t know why I’m so angry”

  • “I feel flat, lost, or confused”

  • “I know I’m worthy… but I don’t feel it”

  • “Why does my body feel tense even when life is ‘fine’?”

Welcome. You’re human. And more importantly — your body has been quietly holding the receipts.

Processing emotions isn’t about “thinking positively” or journaling your way out of rage at 11pm. It’s about understanding where emotions live in the body and how each one needs to be processed differently.

Because anger ≠ shame
Confusion ≠ sadness
Low self worth ≠ lack of purpose

And treating them all the same is like using Panadol for a broken leg.


Let’s Break It Down (Emotion by Emotion)

😡 Anger — Throat, Liver & Right Side of the Body

Anger lives in the throat, jaw, shoulders and liver. It’s the emotion of boundary violation.

Anger needs:

  • movement

  • expression

  • sound

  • release

Not calm-down chats. Not spiritual bypassing. Not “just let it go”.

If anger isn’t processed, it turns into resentment, tight jaws, gut issues, or explosive reactions over absolutely nothing.

👉 Anger heals through expression, not suppression.


😔 Shame & Guilt — Sacral Chakra

Shame is sneaky. It lives low in the belly and whispers:

“There’s something wrong with me.”

Guilt says “I did something bad”
Shame says “I am bad”

They must be processed gently, through:

  • compassion

  • creativity

  • sensual reconnection

  • safety in the body

Shame does NOT heal through discipline, self-improvement, or fixing yourself.

👉 Shame heals through softness and safety.


💔 Sadness & Grief — Heart & Chest

Sadness lives in the chest, arms and hands.

This emotion needs:

  • space

  • slowness

  • permission

  • tears (yes, actual tears)

If sadness isn’t processed, the heart closes — and suddenly intimacy feels exhausting, love feels risky, and connection feels like “too much effort”.

👉 Sadness heals through feeling, not positivity.


🤯 Confusion — Third Eye & Nervous System

Confusion isn’t a lack of intelligence — it’s a nervous system overload.

It lives in:

  • the head

  • eyes

  • temples

  • upper spine

Confusion means your intuition is reorganising.
It needs:

  • rest

  • silence

  • less information (not more)

  • nervous system regulation

👉 Confusion heals through stillness, not answers.


😞 Low Self Worth — Solar Plexus

Low self worth lives in the stomach.

This is where we ask:

“Who am I without approval?”

It shows up as:

  • people pleasing

  • poor boundaries

  • imposter syndrome

  • collapsing under criticism

Self worth heals through:

  • boundaries

  • self-trust

  • embodied confidence (not affirmations shouted into the void)

👉 Self worth heals through action aligned with truth.


🌫 Lack of Purpose — Crown Chakra

Purpose issues aren’t failures — they’re disconnections from joy and meaning.

When the crown chakra feels heavy, life feels flat, dull or “what’s the point?”

Purpose returns when:

  • pleasure is allowed

  • joy is prioritised

  • pressure is removed

👉 Purpose heals through alignment, not effort.
